Gather your materials, such as a Bible (NASB), a notebook, pens, and highlighters. Quiet your mind and pray, inviting

God to reveal His truth to you as you read His Word.

Write the Verse

Read the passage multiple times, noting key words, themes, or repeated phrases.

Identify literary features like metaphors, imagery, or parallels.

Look for connections between verses or overarching biblical themes (e.g., love, grace, forgiveness).

Jot down questions or observations that arise as you read.

Write Thoughts/Observations

B – Build Understanding

Use resources like a study Bible, concordance, or trusted commentary to understand the historical, cultural, and linguistic context of the passage.

Reflect on the author's original intent and the meaning for the first audience.

Seek theological insights: What does this passage teach about God’s character, will, or plan?

Write down your reflections and any spiritual truths that resonate deeply.

Study God's Word

C – Commit to Change

Identify ways the passage applies to your personal life or spiritual growth.

Ask how it challenges or inspires you to align your actions with God’s will.

Write down actionable steps—whether it’s cultivating a Christlike attitude, serving others, or deepening your prayer life.

Share what you’ve learned with someone else, fostering accountability and encouragement.

Apply God's Word

At the end of your study, reflect on your journey with these steps:

Meditate on how this process has deepened your understanding of Scripture and your relationship with God.
